BATTY ABOUT BATS – Thursday 25th October, 10 – 12pm

Come and join us at Whitehough Outdoor Centre (Near Barley, BB12 9LF) for a morning about bats. We will be hunting for bats favourite food, minibeast. While creating natural bat crafts and following trails within the great outdoors! Meet us in the car park to be guided to the indoor and outdoor spaces we will be using. 

Activities aimed at 4 - 12 year olds (but older and younger siblings are welcome to attend). Children must be accompanied by a parent/carer at all times. Please park in the car park and follow the signs to meet us there. All toilet facilities are located in main car park. Please bring your own food and drink and take rubbish home.

OWL PELLET DISSECTION – Thursday 25th October 1.30-4.00pm

Discover what local Barn Owls eat. Park at Whitehough Outdoor Centre (Near Barley, BB12 9LF) for an afternoon walk to the Clarion house. The walk is under a mile long and along footpaths, though kissing gates and over stiles. Therefore not suitable for prams or wheelchairs sorry. On route we will be carrying out a scavenger hunt to create an owl mask. At the Clarion house we will be dissecting pellets to discover what they have been eating, plus an opportunity to make some natural land art. Then a guided nature walk back to Whitehough car park.
