Here at the Pendle Hill Landscape Partnership, we are looking to restart some face to face engagement activity within some of our projects. However, because we cannot deliver sessions as normal, we would like to invite you to sign up to our Connecting to Nature newsletter series!
We understand that many more people have recognised the benefits of spending time outdoors in the past 6 months. There has been more local exploration and discovery, and we have had great success delivering the John Muir Award virtually to a number of families across the Pendle Hill landscape. But, with the night's drawing in sooner and the temperatures expected to fall, autumn and winter are not the easiest seasons to remain engaged with nature and the outdoors. We found that many families appreciated the John Muir newsletters because they offered engagement activities, structure and incentive to get out exploring and discovering.
So we have developed 'Connecting to Nature' - a newsletter sent out every fortnight, each with a different nature theme, different facts and activities for families and adults alike. Activities can be completed in private garden space or local parks, and they encourage local exploration and a reminder of the countryside code.
With no requirement to get involved with all the activities, this may just be a learning opportunity with some new facts!
